DistantLook’s LIVE series of applications aim to take e-commerce to the world of virtual and augmented realities. By introducing LIVE-VR, LIVE-AR, and LIVE-M, we are serving three groups of shoppers. First group of shoppers own a VR headset and using LIVE-VR app will be immersed in our Virtual Stores and have a similar experience and beyond to what they can have in real stores. The second group own an AR headset and using LIVE-AR can superimpose items on the real world. The third group are the traditional mobile users and can see a 360-degree view of the store. Note that the experience offered through LIVE is beyond the real experience since in our VR stores, we offer several unique and innovative features not available in a real store:

1. Teleshopping and Virtual Reality Malls

We constantly analyze what the customer is paying more attention to and based on that recommend other stores which would offer similar items. We have coined the concept of teleshopping and virtual reality mall to convey the fact that the shopper can use our recommendations and starts shopping in these other stores right away – teleshopping. The sense of moving from one store to another in a virtual world shapes what we call virtual reality mall. Virtual store owners can explicitly decide to join a virtual mall or follow the recommendation based on our AI algorithms.

2. Augmented Mirrors and Augmented Decoration

We are planning to rollout the augment version of LIVE called LIVE-AR early next year. With LIVE-AR customers can superimpose what they are intended to buy to the real world and see how it fits before that go ahead and buy it. For example, when shopping for furniture, a shopper can sit at home and see a super-imposed 3D model of a couch anywhere on her actual living room. She can they move the couch just by looking around and pushing a button. She can also change the couch style or its color to find the best match – we call this application augmented decoration. Another example, is when a shopper is trying to shop for cloths. She can look at herself in the mirror through a HoloLens and then LIVE-AR superimposes the cloths she chooses on her body – we call this application an augmented mirror.
